The extremities of the manta ray wings are foldable and adjustable, and covered by solar panels on both sides. The principle is to maintain them at the optimal position all through the day, that is, perpendicular to the sun.
These triangles can fold completely, so as to reduce the aerodynamic loss during night-time.
